Retards complained about Stellar Blade being censored just because of minor changes to the outfitws (that still looked hot at the end of the day), but this is actual censorship. Not only that but the game is actively ruined becasue of it.

After getting my refund (thankfully), I will never buy another Chinese game again. There's just too many retards and government apparatuses there that will actively fuck something halfway decent up.

Well now I'm curious as to how they'll escalate it further. Side note, I feel bad for not using the Cloudfrost Katana seeing as it's apparently a treasured heirloom. Seeing Wuchang use it in the cutscene against Honglan made me go "oh should be using that still?" It's a sexy looking sword sure, but they also gave me an badass extendable whip katana that has more range and better stats so I don't know why they'd expect me to be using Cloudfrost.

Also, was that Honglan fight the one I saw people rage quitting over? It was tough, sure, but it only took me around 8 tries. I thought she was going to be Malenia tier difficult and she ended up Morgott tier instead.

The difference is that depicting rape in that way is gratuitous and only for shock value, in the same way that having the character slowly skin someone alive would be. Sexual content is always about sex, but violence can be justified in many ways. They aren't 1:1. There's not really a narrative reason to show that kind of stuff directly unless it's like a cornerstone of a specific character arc or integral to the plot/worldbuilding, whether that's rape happening to a character or the culmination of a couple's relationship together in a touching moment.

This goes for sex scenes in movies and tv too, they're almost always complete garbage that drags it down. In my opinion people should still be allowed to show things like gratuitous rape scenes if they want, but I don't think they add anything 99% of the time and I don't think they're equivalent to violence because force is the cornerstone of all things in the end.

The CCP doesnt really give a fuck about how that period of time got portrayed as (and even less so in a fantasy game). It seems that the devs caved to the opinion of the vocal gamers.
3 named bosses (based on historical figures) now don't die after you fight them (you actually dont even fight one of them and instead fight a demon created off his obsession) instead they get exhausted and let you continue after commending you on being such an upstanding Ming enforcer. It also features heavily on chapter 4 (out of 5) in which now the Ming forces are allied to you. Before the patch they would be battling the bird demons and you would go and either run by as they are distracted or kill everybody for loot and souls. Now the human soldiers are allied. There is also a few npcs (farmers and slaves) that used to be targeteable that you can't attack now. They also made the game easier with faster estus drinking and iframes when getting up from the ground.

You dont know what you are talking about, which is ok, this is /v/ , nobody here plays vidya. The changes change NOTHING about Wuchangs arc (which was meaningless for 99% of the game anyhow). They did fuck up some of the themes of the game, and introduced an inconsistency on Zhao Yun lore in the game, but the story remains quite literally the same. Some characters get to live but it doesn't change shit. Wuchang's arc and the destiny of the Ming dynasty doesn't change.. Not that changing Wuchang's arc would be easy since she doesnt really have any kind of agenda or development until the literal ending of the game.

She isn't ready to accept it and steps outside the Samsara cycle (unbeknownst to her probably) to live forever in that dream.

Tiger guy, Zhang Xianzhong, is a rebel leader who established a rump state in Sichuan and declared himself emperor. Eventually the Qing army got to him and executed him. You could say he was the Pol Pot of his era and just genocided the local populace and was a complete madman.

The actual emperor, the Chongzen Emperor, committed suicide a few years prior to the events of the game after the Ming dynasty had collapsed. Remnants of the Ming imperial guard and army have been scouring the land of Shu for the chisels because of a rumor that it could revive a person.

The tiger was a peasant/rebel leader guy who unsurprisingly is known for a lot of atrocities. Not sure what the timeline is in the game, but he died after the Qing dynasty was established once Ming fell.

I don't know chinese history well, but he has a cool poem sometimes associated with him and that's what his boss theme is named after.

It added at least 2 inconsistencies, both related to two bosses that now survive instead of dying when you defeat them.
The first one is with the spear dude Zhao Yun.
In this game is a general that should have died a long time ago but was kept alive buy the power of one of the game's mcguffins. Previously you killed him retrieved the chisel and he died as he didnt have the chisel that somehow prevented him from dying any longer. Now he instead remains alive and tells you that it was all a prank and a test teeheehee. How he remains alive now is a mystery, for all we know he might be on the process of disappearing now or w/e. But it doesn't make sense.
The other is a bit weirder as its not only the in game events but is also tied to the "themes" of the game.
Basically during the game we learn that our father tried to ress out brother with a chisel and failed, we also find out that the loyalists to Ming tried to resurrect Chongzhen with a chisel and only got that grotesque demon dragon monster at the end of act 4.
This feeds into the lore of the game that Wuchang needs to find the 5 chisels to actually try to resurrect her sister. We later find out that we can't ress her even with the 5 chisels, more on that later.
Now with the patch it shows that the loyalist did ress the emperor with a single chisel and purged him of his obsession (as thats the boss we face now in act 4) and the emperor gets to leave with his concubine. All with one chisel.
So why the fuck were we looking for more chisels? Again for all we know they might have had other tools, more advanced rituals who the fuck knows, but on the info the game gives us it seems like a flat out retcon with no regards for continuity.
Now about the theme, Wuchang's whole trip is to make her realize that she needs to let go of the idea of ressing her sister, that is reinforced because every time you see anybody trying to ress somebody or achieve immortality with the chisels it goes awry.

Not only the chisels, you also need a very specific ritual to achieve the reversal of causality, which is what you do at the end in the gate of truth. Otherwise the whole 5th chapter is pointless.

Eventually learns to cope with the lose of her sister and is able to break of her obsession (quite literally as is a literal boss). Now free of these burdens she moves on. Sure she might still take Fang Yao as sort of a surrogate little sister, but one step at a time.

Nothing stops the devs from just saying that something else happened with the emperor behind the scenes that we didnt get to see, the loyalist had access to more accomplished magus, priests, and sorcerers that were able to perform whatever rites needed to achieve his resurrection. But thats like when JkRowling tweets some inane shit about the Harry Potter universe. Nobody takes it that serious. You had the whole game to show us, thats what we are working with. Now you are trying to retcon some shit, it stands to reason that some of these changes, made in hastily dont line up perfectly. The initial game had all the Ming people dying after you beat them and Zhao Yun also fading away tying into the overall message of the game. 1.5 essentially changed everything and the story and message make zero sense now. Zhao Yun tells you beforehand to "find the truth" or something before you're able to fight him and then when you did fight and kill him, he actually disappears with this message which made sense with the overall theme of the game. He has a different message now and there's no cohesiveness with the main theme.

Game is still 90% combat, however is it true that the level design has some Dark souls 1 DNA. It has a bunch of interconnected routes and the maps are fairly big themselves.

As you can see with the overlay, I'm alternating between dash attack, heavy attacks, light attacks, back to heavy because the nodes in Dual Swords have clash active during dash attacks, heavy attacks, and the later combo string of light attacks. If you alternate between heavy and light, you'll be practically invincible if the enemy is using their weapon and not countering or kicking/punching. You'll need Leech tempering and Blademaster to make the most out of it though so you don't just flat out die.

The healing and wake-up changes definitely helped, but she seemed to be taking more damage with each hit. It also seemed to be less aggressive with tracking, and the dodging seemed more generous, too.

Steampowered is good against humanoids cause you can turn them around with the L1 into a backstab, its not as easy as it sounds but it can be done.
Cloudpiercer with poise break temper was hitting hard as fuck with the 3 pip L1, it was probably still not worth it but it was fun.
Either way i had a lot of fun with spear playing Solar leap and dodging 99% of the time, barely ever used bulwark or spearveil.

Its not really thousands of miles away. The game is set in 1647. At the time, the remnants of the Ming dynasty have all fled to Sichuan and neighboring areas in the south. So the imperial guard hearing about a rumor about a resurrection ritual somewhere in the province is not that far fetched.
Also you the Jinyiwei, the rice hat guys you encounter in the game. They are basically imperial secret police and you see them interogating npcs and so on the Ming still has some sort of intelligence corps going on.

Yeah, exploration is by far the best thing about the game. No map, massive levels, and logical progression through them. There's even a map of sorts in the game. There are a few places where you can look at the area from above, and see all the landmarks below you. There's also orientation by sights. A few landmarks will stand out, and you can make your way by them. If you really like exploration, go in it blind, no walkthroughs, no internet help.

I got the Dream's Sweet Deceit ending despite bricking quests at Hillswatch cave before seeing posts about that. Ngl, I probably would've given the dude the chisel if I hadn't read that it would fuck up the good ending. Also ended up being able to fight and beat every single boss in the game. This was a lot of fun to play after Stellar Blade and Elden Ring this year.

For anyone on their first playthrough, make sure to save up your bamboos for the Benediction that gives increased damage if 9 disciplines are known. After slotting my Lashing Whip with the 3, 6, 9 Benedictions and getting that damage increase with 12 known disciplines, she started annihilating everything in chapter 4.

I still died a lot in chapter 5 because I suck at dodging and that area is pretty brutal.
