I had a playthrough on for a couple days a while back, and between the things the person playing it said they loved about it, and the things I saw, I'm mostly convinced the Deltarune fandom just largely consists of people who have never really played other RPGs, or have only experienced piss ones.
Like, just from listening to the things they said they liked about the game, SMT 4A would fucking KILL this man, he would cum in his pants until he died. Or Devil Survivors.
I don't even think SMT is the end all of RPG stories, it just struck me that literally everything he's describing enjoying, is something these games, which were just on my mind from a conversation I'd had one of the days, blow everything I saw out of the water in.
I think it's a microcosm of like. Pokemon people, who have never played another game, plus Toby Fox having that fucking old school autism magnet from Homestuck that's hooked a new generation of deep autists, mixed with something I'm probably too old to really get.
And, yeah. I think it's like... how do I explain it. The open secret of wanting to fuck the characters? But, not SAY they want to fuck the characters. Like, they're coy about it, except not at all. Like, I can fucking TELL who they masturbate to, the situations and fantasies from the game they masturbate to, but, they think they're not obvious? This might just be a zoomer thing though. Or a... fukkin, whatever you call them. Person with an audience who watches them play video games, thing. I don't usually watch those, I don't know what's normal these days.
