Not a remake but VtMB2 gives off this vibe. They had a gameplay trailer a bit ago of the player walking through a creepy building and it would have been quiet spooky if the MC and the Zoomer in their head weren't babbling to each other the whole time.

you mean the one at 0:19 when sephiroth goes down ? that's a generic standing pose, all video games have it, when you have an animator using a T posed model and skeleton as a base and you ask him to do standard fixed pose for NPCs and shit, he won't try to make something realistic and instead skip directly to the "work fast and call it a day" and so you end up with stuff like that.

Most anime now trace directly from 3D modeled animations so the same issue happen there.

One of the biggest examples of how Rebirth fucks up the story. Sephiroth doesn’t feel powerful in Rebirth because you just beat the boss and you get some weird cutscene about it. Same with the flashback: Sephiroth doesn’t feel powerful, he the same amount of damage as Cloud in Rebirth. He has a flinch animation where he didn’t in OG, both Cloud and Sephiroth fight twi fucking frogs rather than a bigass dragon that Cloud can’t do anything about. It sucks

I know you're baiting but there are so many layers in that painting that it is actually true art. It's not just the darkness that is supposed to elicit some fear, though it should because at a primal level being afraid of the unknown dark is ingrained in humans. It's also that the dog is alert, and their sense are keener than ours, so it knows something is in the darkness and is alerting you. Whatever is in the dark that has the dog on alert could be anything, and that's freaky.
