Depends on who's gonna have to be in it and their roles. RE7 and village were mostly their own thing, so ethan could easily grow and be star of the show. This one seems complicated since they really want to give tribute to main characters and it's literally on their turf. What good is grace if she sucks at firearms and just turns out to be another ashley for leon?

Resident Evil died roughly 21 years ago, but people keep buying the new games and the majority of franchise sales now come from the titles released since RE7, so what does it matter.
People will buy and play and love the remakes. The newer titles will retcon everything to be in line with said remakes. Every character will be rewritten to be in line with the remakes.
Nothing you can do.

Capcom is in another dark era post financial success. It's going to be shit, as will other games for a couple of years. When it affects their income again, they'll correct course for a year or two before reverting again. This happens endlessly.

Yeah anon, and there was a 13 year period where it was only on the GCN and Wii, it's only on everything now because Capcom was throwing everything at the wall in 2015 and the remake was one of those things- turns out, selling a game that hasn't been ported in over a decade for $20 causes it to sell well. Same shit with Okami.
Doesn't change the fact that it bombed horribly showing that nobody wanted fixed camera tank control games- at least, not until they were 1/3rd of the asking price of a full game, with the option to turn off said tank controls.

I'm always excited for a new RE game. So far, only RE6 disappointing me. But they have been shitting the bed with the amount of content (mostly combat related) in the 2 previous main entries, I hope they deliver this time.
