That's a red flag. Everything comes from somewhere, so someone on the internet just saying "Apparently this is it" and provides no source where it comes from is a big nono.

Here's the thing fellas, SEGA has a general rule of never showing Sonic characters' feet. Blobs are just one way of ensuring they stay censored if they have to be visible at all. The blobs are not there for you to interpret literally, just like you're not meant to interpret Sonic's connected eyes as some cursed mono-eye.
