Ive beaten every campaign on veteran since CoD4. Ai can explain everything easily now, but heres my memory.
>BO3
Takes place furthest in the future. (You) die literally after the first level. Seconds before you die, your captain tries to implant some neural link memories in you. You are then transported to the new story, where the captain is behind everything and you are trying to stop him, even though (You) are supposed to be the captain. Theres only 1 line of dialogue that connects to BO2 as a joke/reference.
>BO4
No Campaign
>BO Cold War
Takes place after BO1 and before BO2. You play with Adler who is the best character in the series and maybe CoD as a whole. His entire shtick is that he is somehow a bigger glowie than anyone in the game. The plot is that (You) are a captured soldier for the big bad. You are given drugs to seem like you have always been a teammate of Woods, from BO1 and Adler. By last quarter of the game you go on real missions with Woods and Adler, taking down USSR secret facilities until the big reveal.
>BO6
The theme is that Adler is now a product of 70s 80s Cold War era tactics living in a 2000s world. Adler does not like the new CIA, revolts against the head who is a woman and the entire game is (You) and the new CIA, is taking the woman down. The woman is connected to the chemical weapons of Saddam and a vague not mentioned connection to 9/11. And there is a reference to the BO2 villain rising in popularity in South America.
>BO7
a direct sequel to BO2 except now Adler will be integrated into the BO2 storyline.
Gameplay wise BO3 is obviously the black sheep of the series with long as hell levels and it was the first time CoD established the boss fights. But MW2 2022 Graves Boss fight and the BO6 zombie boss fights are better than BO3 boss fights. I am a shill, but I think I actually did like BO6 the best of the series.
Also fuck Nintendo.
