War of the Lions or OG PS1 Final Fantasy Tactics, which is better?

War of the Lions with the patch to fix the slowdown on spell animations

Original with a patch to add 100% of the War of the Lions content, including the multiplayer missions as singleplayer missions, while still retaining the original PSX translation. Convert that into a .pbp, and it also runs and loads faster on PSP than the PSP version while taking up 1/10th of the space.

PSP remake has more content, including beautiful CGI celshaded cutscenes, but it has slowdown when special moves go off. The mobile iPhone version is the PSP one without the slowdown. The translations are different in both of them, the PSP version (iPhone, PSP) also removed the flavor text when a spells is cast. That's about it.

The upcoming $60 remaster is the PS1 version so you lose access to all those CGI celshaded cutscenes in favor of the original 1990s cutscenes.

Why are zoomers like this? It's never about if it's actually good, affects the pacing, or is a net improvement, it's always a totally binary "more = better, less = worse"

So no war of the lions stuff. Are they adding anything new? Better endgame content would be cool, I didn't care for the lighting gimmick in deep dungeon.

I have no idea why the remake is being based on the PS1 game when it's objectively worse.

OG PlayStation. Occasional jank in the translation is better than ALL the dialog sounding overly flowery and pretentious. The way things are worded shouldn't be overshadowing what's actually being said. The whole thing comes off sounding like the characters are reading lines from a play instead of actually fucking talking

Do not listen to people saying the original translation is so botched that you can't understand the plot or what's going on from scene to scene. A few parts are garbled and there are several typos but it's never so much that you lose critical context or miss anything important.
