I'm indifferent to the joycon 2 grip. It's near identical to joycon 1's grip except it's flat. I have big hands. So I prefer the pro controller. Though I learned to not squeeze the controller handles too tightly because the handles are not ergonomic at all. Still I manage.

Playing UFO 50. Very fun. Playing Mario Kart World now and then too. I understand the 3 lap autism, but the degree of blowback from that is completely hyperbolic and retarded. The reduced loading times can help albeit it varies heavily depending of the title. Little Nightmares 1 was a big improvement on that regard while you may not see much a difference on others like W40k Boltgun.

Bought the MKW bundle this past weekend. I must be mentally deficient, because I've mostly just been playing free roam for a couple hours a day since then. I just enjoy the act of driving around and seeing if I can get to certain places in certain ways. I'm not really focused on the P-Switches, ? Panels, or Medallions, and just grab them when I see them. It's chill and I'm enjoying it.
I'll probably start doing online races once I get 3 stars on all the Grand Prix cups. I will say, while it's pretty easy to stay in the front for most of the race, they made the designated "rival" character for each cup pretty damn rubberbandy. They stay firmly glued to your ass, and if they pass you in lap 3, they're nigh-on impossible to catch up to via pure racing, even if you're using a getup with a higher top speed. You basically have to wait for the CPU to make a basic mistake, or get hit by a blueshell.

Free roam is surprisingly fun. They did seem to make the CPU easier than it was before, but it still gives you a pretty good challenge. Especially in Knockout the RNG gets fucked and the CPU gets way ahead and nobody is able to do anything about it, but enough tries and you come in first pretty easily.

I got Fast Fusion at launch but only really got around to play it now because I gave priority to some other games first. Really fun and the track design is good although I feel like they overtuned the stat difference between the base vehicles and the better fused ones. I initially tried to do everything with one of the base vehicles but it became impossible by the 100cc equivalent, so I made an A++ rank fused one and have been breezing through everything. I get it's the game's main gimmick, but it's a little too necessary.

To buy the 71 additional bananas from the chip exchange, you need 21000 gold and 7100 chips. This isn't counting the 1500 or so you use for the level-specific exchanges. You can grind out chips really easily in the Canyon Layer in the challenge right outside the first little town. Wear the clothing that gives raises the chance of giving bonus chips. This is also an insanely easy way to collect every random record.

To actually get 1000 bananas though, there are a number of exchanges, and you'll likely spend over 200k gold just in fees. There's a post-game thing that costs 120k to build, and several other post-game/endgame things that cost 10k each like banana trees.

In the meantime, I'd never had the opportunity to play the original Rare DKC games, just the new Retro ones, so I'm playing them on the virtual console for the first time. Based on watching gameplay, I always kind of assumed it would feel really floaty and imprecise, but I'm happy to have been wrong. DK feels surprisingly good to control, and I always feel like I know where I'm going to land, which is not always the case for games of that era.

Finally reached 100% in Bananza.
What a fucking game man.
Just wish the post-game had a bit more to it. The new levels and boss rush mode were cool but I was hoping for a few extra challenges here and there like Odyssey. 3D World remains the king of post-game content in a platformer.
Still tho, absolutely loved everything else about the game, definitely top 5 collectathon materital.

Now I don't even know what to play know cuz the game completely took over my life these last few weeks lmao. Any suggestions? I was thinking about either getting Ninja Gaiden Ragebound or UFO50 since that one just got ported to the Switch. Preferably something short to hold me until the Kirby expansion.

I finally broke and bought Welcome Tour. It's also kind of a collectathon in the sense that you're going around filling out a giant list, and it's not that long. At least it shouldn't be that long, but some of the minigames you have to do really well at for 100% completion are way too demanding. I can play Twister on a touchscreen with all 10 fingers and be adequately challenged, but trying to pinpoint an exact pixel where vibration is coming from based solely on feeling is too far.

It really is disappointing that so many S1 games are still 30fps and low resolution.
I truly thought stuff like 3 Houses, Pikmin, the Mario RPGs like TTYD and Origami King would get bumped to 60 straight away. Yeah it sucks but if you turn off a bunch of shit like HDR, wifi, Bluetooth, rumble, and turn screen brightness down to like 60% you get WAY more battery. Makes a huge difference.
I can get more than 3 and a half hours on Mario Kart when I do this so I'm sure it'll help Rune Factory too.

simply turning on airplane mode is enough to double battery life
FYI it's the same with the switch 1, turn on airplane mode (or straight up tell it to disconnect from wifi) and the battery nearly triples
for whatever reason this doesn't happen with bluetooth because having wireless joycons doesn't drain the battery that much compared to being connected to wifi

I LOVE the Feast layer, while I’m not fond of Tempest & Radiance layer.
