Why aren't there more demons like him around? I remember another one with multiple arms and black magical swords who was as much of a menace. Seems like it works much better for demons to be straightforward killing machines than to play mimic.

Man literally got survival of the fittest out of the gene pool. His type of demon just stopped being effective compared to the mimic-types. In a world where magic is way more powerful and everyone knows how to at least seal the uber-powerful ones away, demons need a lot more subtlety to survive.
