Battlefield 6 is proof you can take a massive AAA budget and still launch yourself straight into the loser’s club. The maps feel like empty film sets from a bargain-bin Direct-to-Streaming Call of Duty knockoff, the guns sound like toys from the dollar store, and that so-called “epic” destruction system? The BIGGEST DISASTER in gaming history. If this game came from a no-name studio, the same people defending it would be roasting it into space dust. But because it says “Battlefield” on the box, they act like it’s some glorious comeback and that “we’re all back.” But in reality, it's never been more over, and that's so, so incredibly sad!

I hate it. They'll force their tpm secure boot shit on all vidya.

You can tell, too. The Finals feels like it is pushing forward with gameplay, destruction and tech. BF2042 and 6 feel like some EA suits used chatgpt as a consultant, analyst and developer and it just made some plastic, congealed mess of what AI hallucinations think Battlefield is.

Ultimately I think normies are going to pre order this because they have CoD fatigue, but then they're going to drop this as soon as Black Ops 7 comes out and continue the cycle.

I think the negativity around the last battlefield has actually worked in their favour and increased hype. Its made more people interested to try out the bf6 beta and thus support them with preorders as if to reward them for improving.

Battlefield 1 really was such a shock and a fluke, looking back. Amazing maps, highly dynamic, amazing visuals, amazing sound, ran great, minimal technical issues. Literally every match felt like a movie. Sandstorm blows in, biplanes suddenly appear out of the sky and crash into the ground into some guy who goes flying off his horse while in the distance artillery explosions rattle off and the blood curdling screams of a couple team mates burning to death as they get lit on fire reach your ears. There was enough space on the maps that you could take all this in without immediately being surrounded at every angle by shit going on like in the new game with the cramped environments.
