There isn't much to talk about. It's the 1+2 mechanics, almost entirely unchanged, in maps from 3 and 4. It's competent, but it's missing a lot of the soundtrack from 4, and even though it wasn't a dealbreaker for me, removing the career mode from 4 was exactly that for a lot of other people. It's decent, but totally hollow, and the character models and levels really never needed to be realistic. I wish they chose to go with a heavy stylization for these remakes to give them a unique appeal in comparison to the originals. 1+2 at least had the benefit of updating the mechanics to the standard of 4, but that matters a lot less with 3, and is totally irrelevant in the case of 4. Really, the only value the THPS 4 remake offers over playing the original is if you really didn't vibe with the career mode and always wished it stuck with the 2 minute format.
In essence, a disappointment that wouldn't have been such a problem if 3 had been released as DLC for 1+2 like they had planned and VV got to remake 4 from the ground up.
We were fucking robbed when they rolled VV into the Blizzard mines, despite making the only profitable product of 2020. What the fuck were they thinking?
