Oh yeah we put in like as much story as possible, it doesn't make sense, it's obvious where Strange is and it's completely obvious how to stop the city being bombed but now hold on, remember, Batman must suck off Joker so all that is put on a hold

not to mention the whole 'you must have the Catwoman DLC, which can only be gotten if you pre-order it to understand the story' then became 'well haha it's only a DLC code if you buy it new... okay fine you can just fucking buy the DLC' and it turned out it literally was 'she stole from Two-Face and that's why he's mad

It has the best gameplay. By far.

Asylum is a better whole package on account of being completely original and not having any extraneous parts. It just does what it sets out to do and doesn't really stray from that, doesn't overstay it's welcome, just good all around.

City is more bloated (as many sequels are) but if you are purely interested in the gameplay systems, it's the best one. The riddler challenge maps are an entire game all on their own and add a pretty good amount of depth to otherwise simple systems.

City is really jack of all trades, master of none. More fun to go back to as well.

You can argue Knight has better combat, Origins has a better put-together story, and Asylum has the better creepy/grungy atmosphere to it. Then again, Knight's story collapses under itself, stealth is overall worse, pretty much anything else Origins tries to do is worse, and trying to play through Asylum nowadays feels like version 0.5 clunkfest.

I recently played Knight for the first time and liked it just as much as the others despite all the Batmobile stuff. I'm just annoyed that the true ending requires getting every Riddler trophy.
