The ones that are okay are characters with their motivations, objectives, flaws and strengths. The ones that aren't exist only to preach at you about how you should feel guilty for existing and are portrayed as morally superior to everyone else. It's not about being black, it's simply that noone likes being preached to and patronised

You can tell the intentions behind a character.

When I was a kid in the 90s racism didn't exist and everyone got along. Rodney King? Who was that? Rush Hour saved race relations and the 1994 crime bill didn't ruin a bunch of lives, I was also not paying bills and taxes so I could pretend things were way better back then.

The same seven black characters were all we needed, never mind that they'd be called woke today and there were people who didn't buy San Andreas because it heavily leaned on black culture.

Because he was obviously made to be a funny and likable addition to the game, not as a way for the devs to say "see, we are a racists we added a black to our video game!!!". Also it would make sense for a game set in an American city to have black characters. If you add blacks to a setting they don't fucking belong then its obviously just some faggoty diversity quota thing.
