the robot is a nonissue if you set up a couple of spinning blade traps with a battery right in front of its home. Which can be done on day 1 with enough game knowledge.

It is a bit exposed but you learn where things spawn during raids and make traps accordingly.
The games difficulty drops greatly when you consider traps/base defenses for most situations.

This is something 've often wondered. It would seem reasonable for no more fog events to occur after resets unless the power cells were removed again, but that doesn't seem to be the case, at least from a gameplay standpoint. I still don't really understand how the temporal resets are supposed to work, I probably came across that information at one point.

asap so you know that stuff like benches create a safe radius and stuff like that
you also want to collect some stuff a bit early but don't go super overboard hoarding as you'll learn later that resources won't be much of a problem
one of the biggest tips is not to necessarily to try and build everything you need when you can just go find it out in the map, package it, and bring it back to your base instead. (i.e. water)

Sometimes it seems like they try to spawn in, the game doublechecks if they can fit where they're spawning at and goes "oh lmao, nope" and pops them. Happens on my batteries snug between a wall and benches or other furniture, but not on say a charger array wide-out on a table.
As for how to actually deal with getting rid of their event, a giant floating kidneystone will be in the office lobby kinda rolling around in the air. It'll shock you if you're too close, but it's tiny chip damage, just keep wailing on it with whatever and it'll eventually pop with no warning. Great accuracy skill training imo.

scrapshot guns are good early and their ammo is borderline free; the lode pistol is pretty decent
military guns only become good towards the end of the game when you have loads of ammo and don't have to give up an armor piece just to use them
the biometric meme should simply not be in the game, the guns aren't strong enough to justify that limitation when shit like the deatomizer and hypercross exist with no such limits

I think it could have been properly explained if they spent more timing thinking about it, but yeah at the end of the day it's just so you can grind mats.
It's been a while since I read the emails that originally explained it, but something like a portal is only giving you a separate snapshot-in-time of an anteverse that runs on loop could have worked. That however would almost fully divorce most consequences of tampering with an anteverse though.

my quick and dirty tier list after 5 minutes of thinking, my point being that lodestone version of the melee weapons are awful, and I hear the laser pistol is a straight downgrade over the energy pistol
B tier is a funny tier of stuff that's useful in certain circumstances or early on but their damage fails to keep up with later enemies. Grinder should probably be here but for early game projectile weapon it's pretty good
didnt play with tier 2 guns enough to see how they go, the 5.56 is great but the sniper, shotgun and SMG are kinda shit

It does have two major downsides tho, annoyingly short range, very easy to whiff your first hit, and you need a specific speed to be considered sprinting so turning around or getting knocked back tend to cancel sprint, which fucks you over royally if you were about to hit because now you need to cancel the weaker and slower swing.
The Exor Cha is the bane of sprint attacks because her spear will cancel your sprint from beyond your attack range.

I'm about the same level of progression: we're definitely making things worse, but so far it isn't 'too' bad.
Conductors can't just go wherever they want: they're naturalized in Flathill South Dakota because there's a geo-magnetic abnormality already there (it's why they could set up the portal in the first place) that replicates similar conditions from their home dimension and they also need that mist to completely saturate the area. When you use the Flathill portal a bunch of that mist gets in and it allows some of them to wander into the facility; you can just vent the mist out into the Australian outback and 'suffocate' them tho. This sound like a cunt move, but it's so fucking hot and arid that there's no hope for their survival out there.

The Exor are probably way, way, worse. Their native dimension has an extremely slow rate of entropy and I'm getting the feeling it must take hundreds, maybe even thousands, of years for them to naturally complete their lifecycle, but in our own high-energy state dimension they can complete it in fucking months. There's just a bunch of stupid, dipshit, Exor running around with the bodies of adults and the minds of children.

tldr; It's bad, but it has rules. I've been playing 100% solo and enthralling myself in the lore. Good game.

Though it can be a bit of a schlep to get to most locations. Can anyone shine a light on the chronology and basically what happened at hydroplant before we arrive ?
What I understand is that that the GK went there to go to the reactors and closed the way. Now:

- What is the normal way to get to the reactors/power services and how did they get there themselves ? I doesn't seem like they used the spillway..
- How exactly did they block the way ?
- I gather that by blocking the way they flooded the area just before hydro, that we empty to get to the dam. But were the robotics labs already flooded or did WE do that ?

Basically I get the gist of it, but the specifics are pretty unclear to me...

Just the tram most likely, and probably a road leading there, it's fairly far away from the rest of the facility.
>How exactly did they block the way?
Enabling lockdown, closing gates and shutting down pumps. I think they were also containing IS-0023 until we released the flood.
>But were the robotics labs already flooded or did WE do that?
It was already the case, either caused by the fighting or IS-0023 getting released, as there's an email mentioning very loud rumbling near robotics.

In the same anteverse you can find an email talking about other anteverse GATE staff who aren't necessarily aware of the same IS than the one in Anteverse 1.
Ultimately it means that GATE released the love potion, either on purpose or by accident (say because they were raided by the Order and some retard let out the zombies loose in one of the GATE facility which eventually found a way out), and it caused the end of the world.

There is a respec but it involves you resetting all of your skills to level 3. By the time I found it I had lots skills level 10-15 and wasn't going to basically cut off all my development so I've just been powering along despite my bad job/trait choices and I'm gonna just be smarter on a second playthrough.

If you want to know how to respec, when you get to Cascade Labs and reach the containment blocks with the big lift elevator one of the cells on the upper levels will be open and a dazed scientist will be sitting near it. Inside is a doorframe that if you walk through you respec, but like I said all your skills are gonna get kneecapped.

As for learning recipes it's wonky but I think you have to pick up a specific ingredient in a recipe before it unlocks, and usually it is the ingredient that would be considered "newest" I guess. You should also make a point to craft one of everything that is available even if you aren't too interested in using it because sometimes those are going to chain into unlocking another recipe that uses what you crafted as an ingredient. There are also recipes I have missed out on simply because I haven't fucked around with fishing, as some recipes require the ingredients you get from butchering various fish. There are also recipes that you can only learn by interacting with stuff in the environment. A lot of them are pretty obvious, like the pot of solder next to the Blacksmith that gives you the recipe for making solder (which you need to progress) or various big glowy things that are just asking for attention. There is a recipe I missed completely until poking around on the wiki, in either the lower Cascade Labs or the upper Adjustment Wing (can't remember) there is a whiteboard that if you interact with it you get a recipe for a good backpack.

I think how it works is each item won't necessarily give you a new recipe, you have to pick up multiple things, the ideas are forming in your scientist's head but aren't done until you've found the last piece.

I actually barely used it except for the reaper, it's just the most convenient way to complete the "puzzle" to open Rise. But most people on a first playthrough won't know that you can craft it shortly after labs.

Not really, Fishing minigame is kinda ass but extremely risk free food. You can also cook alien parts for more hunger. Water just takes some extra time to baby sit making it because it boils at a 4 tainted to 1 pure ratio, so you need 4 cooking pots to make 1000ml of water. Once you get level 4 cooking you get soups, which are extremely cost effective hunger and thirst. Look up some soup recipes and you can combat your debuffs with the soups that slow hunger and thirst for a time.

God, there's been more combat in this part of the game than the rest of it combined even if you are basically doomguy at this point. Still feel like the gun ammo economy is fucked for anything that isn't the shotguns

it's a ranged weapon that does acceptable damage and takes up no durability or ammo
wouldnt use it most things stronger than order troops, but it's very efficient. i used it to kill the yeti quite easily.

> Shotgun is kinda shit
what nonsense is this? You get a lot of ammo, works great on nearly any order guy and even punks witches and that is my experience before 1.0 made it upgradeable and not needing the stupid arms
firearms are good vs humanoids, but they are not made equal. Shotgun and magnum are bueno tier, sniper is not amazing except maybe 2 areas, famas is dogshit. Gate rifle is nice, but you unlock it too late and its actually not as good as it ought to against the new and even tankier gatekeepers.

Finally finished it. It was great, until Fragments. Let's take away player's enhanced mobility! Let's make gravity cube, the thing that it either always equipped or permanently on the hotbar, a deathtrap. What could possibly go wrong!
Still, great game, I don't have a lot of survival-crafting-bullshit experience but this was probably the best of all and a great example of Early Access.
I just wish guns were better. I mean fuck, we got Spectre M4 with pathetic 18 rounds magazine for crying out loud! Come on! And Glock with 10-12 rounds mag size? Plz.
Gib more. In like a year or so. Me pay.

Order guns you can upgrage to remove the lock and later arms-slot armor will take care of the biometric lock, but GK guns will still require a separate trinket bypass the lock. Also upgrading some guns makes them genuinely shit.
