I think that was the case at some point in development. The entire intro up to the end of the Konpeki heist is somewhat obviously made for a completely different game than the one we got. I don't know if it was the Keanu casting, or just too fucked of a development process that kept changing directions, but the entire game is very awkwardly and visibly stitched together from a ton of disparate ideas.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a 0/10 game just because you can't romance Johnny Silverhand. fucking cowards. fucking cucks. fucking corpo cunts.

We know objectively that the into montage was cut late in production, it was meant to be playable, and they obviously chose to cut it for a reason.

CP 77 was rushed af, they had 2-3 years of real development, there most likely were plans to do it but they ran out of time, didn't finish game and decided to release it anyways.
Game was badly stitched, with shity plot that is just one of worst scenarios in CP2020(player have bomb in their head) and was only saved by Keanu hype and preformance, game was unplayable at launch and it took cdpr 2 years to just fix game.
It was supposed to have multiplayer, there was a ton of cut content, they focused on promising too much instead of actually making game.

they shouldnt have been implying to customers and shareholders they were working on the game as early as 2012 when they released the first teaser trailer then. Literally nobody asked them to do that. They fucked themselves over. Well the corpos fucked over the little guys who actually do all the hard work. The fact that the mismanagement of cdpr around cp2077 perfectly mirrors the shitty corpos in universe is a level of irony that shouldnt even be possible. In fact its a kind of ludo corpo unit that no other game will ever match

The game would have been better if it was episodic and not open world slop. There, I said it. Also I fucking hate that weapons have levels, I dont want to upgrade it, or cyberware.

Open world isn't the problem, entire game design and leveling is.
CP2020 was heavily focused on realism, equipment had no levels, most shoots missed and if you got hit and didn't have serious bulletproof vest or wasn't borged out it hurt a lot, you could spend weeks healing or in therapy if went overboard with cyberware.
Meanwhile in 77 your heavy anti materiel .50 sniper rifle deal less damage than small calibre pistol because it's 5 levels lower. Fuck I hate level based design.

Even now in 2.3 they still don't know how to make their own game and they scrapped things like full respec and removing mods from guns. And crafting mods as well iirc as well as making crafting non-iconic guns worthwhile. Just gutted the game in 2.0 for no fucking reason. And now I never have enough RAM for quickhacks and the entire new 2.0 intelligence tree is garbage compared to 1.6 e.g.
Also the "outfit" transmog system is overlaid on top of what is now functionally a "transmog" system because armour you equip does NOTHING except cosmetic appearance (in a locked first-person game)

People thought it was going to be GTA in cyberpunk world. Now look how long and how much it takes to develop GTA6. Now compare those numbers with cyberpunk.
Of course it failed to deliver all its promises, the poor Polish rice farmers called CD Projekt do not have nearly enough money nor manpower to deliver this much. The worst part? CP2077 was still a success as they are making second game and considering the fuck up it was and it still being a monetary success means the Orion (second game) will be just as if not more of a fuck up than the first game as the first one showed how low people's standards truly were.
Hell, I personally blame this game for the reason why there was (and still is) huge insurgence of UE5 shovelware since 2020. It showed all publishers that despite how many fuck ups they could make, they could still make a game that people will eat like pigs eat whatever slop you throw at them.

Hey, CPR are not rice farmers, they are honest marketplace traders specialised in selling bootleg games.
Of course they forgot their roots once they went global and instead of selling cracked GTA V with some cyberpunk fan mods, they decided to develop game themselves.
