You're talking like a retard, but generally, the earlier FF games just have less fans more than anything, for very obvious reasons.
>Final Fantasy
Too clunky and not that notable for anything beyond its gameplay, similar to Dragon Warrior of the time, which is why that series still doesn't really exist outside Japan.
>Final Fantasy 2
Was not brought over (officially, which is all that matters unless you're Mother 3) until 2003. For perspective, that was 15 years after it came out in Japan and 6 years after Final Fantasy VII, and the version most everyone played of it would not release until 2004.
In addition, both versions were part of compilations that came with FF1.
>Final Fantasy 3
Was not brought over until 2006, or 16 years after it came out in Japan, the version brought over being a 3D remake that not only was up against fucking FF4 on the same platform, was not only the LAST mainline FF to be brought over (with nothing of note that was all its own outside of a somewhat interesting worldmap progression), it also shared name real estate with the SNES FF3, which was the super popular and beloved FF6.
>Final Fantasy 4
This one actually was popular but got overshadowed fast by 6, then 7-8-9-10. Not helping matters was it being renamed "Final Fantasy 2" though.
>Final Fantasy 5
This one just suffers from being completely forgotten. Got brought over to America a measly 7 years post-JP release, wasn't too gimped beyond load times, but uh... it's not FF4 or 6. That's it.
I think the thing that shows the American perspective on it is the Mega64 Sakaguchi video, wherein the only thing they had for FF5 in the script was "The main character's name is Buttz (Bartz)". It's not the 'deep' emotional rollercoasters that were 4 and 6 so it gets forgotten.
>Final Fantasy 6
This is absolutely what your buzzwords are describing btw.
