The Silent Hill 2 pizza actually looks pretty damn good.
Why is Eddie's "hell" just getting good pizza whenever he wants and killing people he doesn't like with an unlimited ammo revolver?
Seems a bit unfair to Angela and James who are actually struggling, no?

Because SH is not "hell".
It's not "purgatory".
It's not a "shrink town" with consciousness, it does not try to "punish" anyone.

The town's powers are running on auto-pilot after SH1's events. Everyone experiences their own personal mental projections, which reflect their own psyche, their own mental state, their own desires and fears.

James and Angela are looking for punishment, but in different ways. Eddie is a typical bully victim, desiring revenge and good time. Laura is a literal bratty child, and thus only sees a fun little mystery town filled with toys and playgrounds.

It is safe to say that all the side characters are symbolic representations of the various routes James can go after revealing the "truth", whether he likes them or not.

How can you just sit there and eat pizza?

SH1 original lore was just:
>alessa is an actual witch girl with powers
>town isn't special at all
>cult tortures alessa through immolation to bring their God
>suffering awakens her powers tenfold
>she projects actual real creatures into reality (not "alternate dimension" like SH2), effectively killing 99% of Silent Hill's population and shrouding it from the outside world (Cybil who was from Brahms, a town next to Silent Hill, couldn't communicate with them anymore, it's why she is in the town)

That's pretty much it. And it makes sense when you know that SH2 wasn't really supposed to be a Silent Hill game but they slapped the IP on it for marketing reasons.
SH1 and SH3 lore basically exist in their own Alessa-related vacuum.

I love how people analyze the pizza 20 years later when in reality the devs just thought the guy was fat and disgusting so he should probably be eating junk food to make sure the player understands how fat and disgusting he is.

Eddie's version of Silent Hill was fucking cool.
