not really
they dumbed down a lot
removed a bunch of skills
stealth is both really good and really retarded because guards only look for you if a crime has been detected and they start searching for a possible culprit
its so bad you can rob a place at midnight, go home, sleep, wake up, put on monks clothes and go sit outside the place you robbed, eventually they will notice an item missing and get the guards and they'll come and arrest you
combat sucks as well, enemies will infinitely perfect block and parry you and if you try to perfect block and parry in return they'll just keep doing it until you are out of stamina and then you'll get wrecked
meanwhile the dodge mechanic lets you teleport behind enemies and get a free hit in, so its dark souls
there's literally a fight against a high tier guy where you are both forced to use polearms and neither of you will be able to do shit until one of your polearms breaks
for some reason the world feels more rigid and scripted, more manufactured but less alive, i couldn't place it but in KCD1 i felt really immersed and enjoyed my time but in KCD2 it felt like i was just playing any other shitty game
story drags on and drags you with it, at one point you investigate some fort and have to wait for hans, you have like a whole day to chill out, the guards there obviously try to waste your time and distract you even sending a girl to fuck you which takes most of the day, but sneaking around and killing the guys there or finding out they're suspicious does fuck all for the plot it just gets you some extra lines of dialogue
and every key npc just respawns anyway if you kill them which makes it worse than bethesda with its essential npc shit
kuttenburg is decent but its in the second half of the game and comes too late in my opinion
oh and enemy loot is shitty in the first part of the game but in the second part they all use gold quality noble shit worth thousands of groschen so earning good gear is pointless
