Just in case you don't understand the subtelty of what I'm conveying. I'm saying Metaphor Refantazio fans literally define grinding differently. I define grinding as having to clear an entire dungeon fighting the same mobs over and over again. That's Metaphor Refantazio in a nutshell. There's very little variety or creativity in any of the mob formations you fight in a dungeon. And you have to fight a ton of them. That's why Atlus literally has an auto-battler integrated in their combat system.

What's good about it anon?
I tried playing through it for about 2hrs and it was dogshit for me.
The majority of the first two hours are just cutscenes and walking to the next cutscene. Then you're given a choice in the cutscenes and if you pick the wrong one the following message makes no sense because the game assumes you pick the correct one.
The characters are just weird or cringe, I couldn't like any of the few i met. The soundtrack was just noise, no cool beats or hooks to get you interested in the story or the battle system.
Like it wasn't just one thing, it was every fucking thing. This was a 2/10 game for me and I'm very curious how other anons can like such a thing unironically unless they've just never played better games.

It's one of the worst games ever released by Atlus, easily top 3 worst. It's a game about adventure and yet the environments look incredibly shitty and dull, there is no sense of wonder, you don't feel like you're on a journey at any point. Complete failure on one of the most crucial points of the game.
Then the gameplay is serviceable, nothing to write home about.
Story is trash but that's par for the course when it comes to jarpigs

He should have been a surprise playable as the crew discover the attrocities of the empire, but instead they decided to make him LOLEVIL after killing Fidelio - which still makes zero fucking sense to me. Why did he need to kill him? Why not do that to all of the crew there? Why just piss off the protagonist? It's such a missed opportunity given what they set up with government atrocities to races such as the Paripus. Surely the should have redeemed him after discovery of their "experimental operations".
Brigitta, Alonzo and Catherine could have been done better too. Brigitta literally was connected to the atrocities and they just gloss over it... it's bizarre. Catherine is also not pissed off enough at what is happening to her people. She shouldn't just give up resisting. That's just nonsense when the system is genociding Paripus.

Well I played E33 after metaphor, it's plot is not even close to as good and metaphor's is a bit of a mess.
But E33 does have beauty and interesting mechanics. Broken, but endless. The UI needs some work though.

Somewhere between Pictos and Archetypes could be nice... oh wait that's just SMT demons.
If only SMT5 did creative real time mechanics sorta like E33 and FF6. You could almost rip off card game rogue likes too with mechanics too and Fire Emblem with rts-esque unit placements (without just being a pure rts).

They kinda had something with 13 Sentinels and how that rts functioned. Don't see why Atlus couldn't do this.

I enjoyed the demo, perhaps the only thing I found annoying was the eyefucky AI raping my eyes every time I went into the menu or started a battle.
Then they suddenly dropped the fucking calendar system and I quit the demo. It's not a fun mechanic, the only time it has ever made sense was in P3 and any other time it was introduced it was forced in. I don't want my fantasy JRPG to stop me from going somewhere because MUH CLOCK. I don't want to fucking develop social links just to be able to access a fucking shop and optional dungeons. They added Social links and the calendar, admittedly the most boring and annoying features respectively of P3-5, but didn't add romance which was mostly why weebs even played those games in the first place.
