I never preordered a single game, if I like I can buy it at launch.
Most people aren't try hard gamers they are normies who don't care for "no fucking preorders", they just want to have fun for 20 minutes and then forget completly about game. Battlefield is less casual because it relies in theory on team play, you know having your squad and shit instead of CoD's "go in straight line, shoot everyone in front of you till dead" formula.
BF is less casual friendly and better than CoD by virtue of destroyable environment and squad based gameplay. This is also why CoD always outsold Battlefield by a mile.

I've asked people to break it down and from what I can gather I am "giving an interest free loan to corrupt corporations", which, I suppose, but unless you are Limited Run Games or whatever they only have that "loan" for a few weeks until the game comes out.

I don't really... care i guess? I'll still pre-order games I want, especially if the day 1 edition comes with trinkets.
