It's not a fun game, those statchecks can be real frustrating and there's like 2 failures that lead to fun outcomes and aren't just "fuck off and come back later". That and I swear 90% of story events are all packed into the first 3 days and super easily missed with how arbitrary they are.

But it is a very fun story.

Yup, that is definitely not a political statement there. I know autists have very black and white thinking, but something can be about multiple things at once. Its possible to for the game to be about politics but also be (more so) a character study on the day to day lives and inner-worlds of the people living in a post-war/civilwar shithole

The one nice thing about DE is that it's at least short, so you can beat it in 6 hours and realise that all the praise is from braindead commies, if you get tricked into playing it by commies insisting shit like "it makes fun of everyone!" and "no, no, they say faggot but censored it's super edgy!" It's not really about that at all. The characters are a backdrop for political mouthpieces, everyone in the game is defined not by their actions, but by which party line they will vehemently defend to the end. The goal is to get players to "pick a side" and boil down the human experience to a political message. It's one of the most bland propaganda games you can play, there's some real comical shit in there like the entire world falling apart while everyone is arguing about what color the paper hats should be.
