>kills your franchise

AA5 and AA6 sold fine on the 3DS.
The modern collections are selling well: AA1-3 is over 4.3m. GAA1-2 just sold over 1m. AA4-6 and AAI-2 are close to selling 1m.
The only recent game that "bombed" was GAA2's original release; a Japan-only 3DS game released in 2017.

What killed franchise is Capcom's lack of interest after the 3DS-era and their focus on big budget AAA titles. Capcom's smaller franchises have been left by the wayside.

AA1-3 Collection is crazy since it was at 3.3m sales just last year. The collections have been slow-burn sales winners for Capcom

They already hinted at something new coming in the future, made with RE Engine.

>”At this time there is nothing to talk about, but we have gained a lot of knowledge about the RE Engine. I can say that the Ace Attorney series will not be stopping, so in that sense I think you can look forward to what is coming.”

At first I thought this was just hinting at the (then) unannounced Investigations Collection. But apparently the AAI Collection was made with Unity, not RE Engine. So maybe this was a tease for a new game after all.

I have zero expectations until they actually fucking announce the thing.
