Interconnectivity is cool. It makes the game feel less arcadey with how worlds require progress in other places. Also maps are not too big, you're just a retard who doesn't use super banjo despite codes being available in the literal first world.

>Water is cold and dirty.
>explore a little to find a way to clean the water.
>explore exhaustively to find a way to warm the water. Gives up.
>3 worlds later, finds a way to warm the water.
>"Too hot, fuck you". Gives up.
>Last world, randomly murders a husband, after murdering his wife. That was the solution.
You know, I think I'm gonna keep my jiggy count at 89.

Tired of the hate for Banjo games. Sunshine and Mario 64 aside, name another 3D platformer where the levels are so much the star of the game. Even Odyssey and Bananza with their often artificial feeling levels doesn't come close.

It had the potential to be. But when you look closely its actually not. I could be critical of how its not actually "interconnected" because interconnection isnt about structure so much as progression. Instead ill copy paste what I think is the fundamental problem of the game:
"The biggest problem with the character switching in tooie I think is that the characters while unlocked new abilities, they actually became simpler when seperated, but the level design isnt strong enough to make the deficiencies strong enough.
For example. Without Kazooie. Banjo can hop around in his backpack, and while this is a new interaction to avoid hazards like thorns or something. It doesnt actually add anything but an extra step, because Banjo is going to get to the thorns anyways. He just might have to take another route to do so. But route taking in the games isnt even that interesting or engaging because once youve unlocked all the teleport pads, you can already cheat obstacles banjo alone might not be able to deal with somewhat by teleporting around.
If obstacles while seperated were more like puzzles where you had to creatively utilize ALL or even just some of Banjos moveset to solve a problem then it could have been interesting, instead, youre often just taking another more tedious and no less simple path than the path you would naturally take, except that path feels roundabout.
So the gameplay never justifies that length with any sort of increased challenge or obstacle that engages mechanically or intelligently.
I think the only exception is arguably minigames, but I dont even remember how many minigames were banjo or kazooie exclusive. And besides the minigames in the game suck not only because theyre all variations of "shoot at or collect specific coloured things" but also because of the obnoxious way the reticle works in these games where it snaps back to the middle of the screen if you dont hold it in a certain direction."
Everything within quotes is from a past thread

The word you’re looking for is “gamey”, not “arcadey”, retard. The game has no semblance to the linear score based nature of an arcade game.

88* since you need to finish a family of jinjos to receive their jiggy and you do that by killing Mrs. Ice Cube

I think it says more about you if you think a game literally for children is a "thinking man's" anything.
