I'm waiting to see big maps before I buy anything. Battlefield lives and dies on the quality of its large scale maps. I think its kind of baffling that they didn't put at least ONE big map in either beta weekend.
The maps we do have might as well not have vehicles on them because they are so restrictive. You don't even ever have space to turn a fucking tank around, let alone pull any kind of flank or maneuvers. You drive forward for half a second and you are already at the first cap point. Every tank fight consists solely of engineers trying to out repair the enemy engineers because the tanks can't actually move and be strategic.

No, it's better than 1 and 2042 but they've got another 2 or 3 games to shit out before they make something worth playing.

I installed and played a few games of V. I remember not enjoying it that much but it's a lot better than 6.

If they were selling it for 40EUR, I would be buying. For 70EUR I really don't think so, not unless my friends somehow manage to talk me into it. If they sold a no-campaign version for 40EUR I'd be happy too, but 70EUR is way too much.

Only if the maps outside the beta are better than this and they make the assault class more of a team player class as currently it feels like the team with the least assault players win.

I don’t think it’s better than BFV, BF4, BF3 but it’s a lot more enjoyable to play in the current year because the playerbase is much bigger and you aren’t playing the same people everyday.

It’s also the only decent arcadey shooter on the market right now. It’s like 100x times better than any recently released COD game that specifically caters to controller retards, based DICE actually lets us farm dumbass console players to the point that they turn off cross play kek

BF6's console version allows mouse and keyboard, but it seems the console community is ignorant of that and just uses their controllers. Poor sons of bitches.

It's somewhat location related too. I'm not a good player but in CoD games, when I used to play, I would get same few guys in my lobbies especially during off hours.. This happened across multiple games.
Now the Chinese are using VPN and playing in EU lobbies I have stopped playing any online multiplayer. Sometimes my CoD lobbies would have 10 Chinese guys (with 150+ ms latency) plus 2 Europeans, this mostly happens during day I suppose.
Online gaming as a whole is such a cancer these days. I'm not going to even think about getting BF6 either.

Not likely. it seems they are trying to steer everyone to accept open instead of closed weapon usage. Certain maps and modes just seem to break when you make it open.

Fuck no. I tried the game a 2nd time when the open beta released and I still hated it. Visually cluttered, adhd movement, 0.1 sec ttk, maps too shit (small, chokepoint-y and not enough verticality). It's super slop.

They had to balance out gameplay with realism. No matter how much autistic spergs here would tell you they'd want a fully realistic WW1 game, the reality is it would make for a shit game since WW1 guns would play so horribly. No one would want to sit in a trench for 30 mins then get out and constantly reload their bolt-action rifle before getting 1 shot by some tank, no matter how much autistic spergs here tell you otherwise.

Why did they remove jets and helicopters?
And tanks, for that matter. It seemed like each map only has one tank and it takes ten minutes to respawn?

The only map in the beta that has aerial vehicles is liberation peak. If the next 4 maps in the beta don't all have aerial vehicles it's gonna be another historic failure.

No. the peak of all of these games is always the beta, when player numbers are at peak, and you have the most fun just dicking around.
At launch, people figure out the meta, people start hacking, and taking things way too seriously.
I'll always play CoD and BF betas, but I'll never ever pay for another one.

The game is just to sweaty for my taste. You have to be alert 100% of the time and have 360° overwatch around your character or you will just die from retarded spawnlogic. You are not allowed to calm down and gather your thoughts in this game.

Maybe next year when there's a sale for it. I'll wait and see what they plan on changing or adding months after release. From what I've seen so far, the maps are pretty bad. I wish they had released a big one for the beta. Many have already said it, but the gameplay feels more similar to CoD than BF. I hope they'll add water maps and vehicles in the future. I still hate the sliding, the open weapons and that everyone is automatically spotted.

I'll just keep playing BF4 and 1 in the meantime.

Only when it becomes FREE with gamepass like the others. I'd just play BF1 in the meantime.

This is the DICE’s third attempt at trying to get a new player base. It doesn’t take an analysis to know the steam count will be <15k by December. I don’t know why it’s so hard for them to make a normal gold standard battlefield game. They don’t even have to do anything new or innovative, they just have to combine all the noteworthy features from the last few games.

They get to show sales numbers to investors to keep them happy, and secure annual bonuses for execs.
By the time the game starts hemorrhaging players, they've already got your money at launch price, and it only costs a skeleton crew to keep the game running indefinitely after that.
