Yep.
I just want to be the typical cliche Greek Hero. Like the first game. You're just "some guy" who happens to save a bunch of people then because of that, you get hired to do it some more until it becomes a full on heroes journey.
You're not the chosen one. You're a guy who just decided to try and do good. It has so much more weight then "le heckin chosen one" because they didn't work for shit. They don't have all the baggage that comes from a guy trying to do the right thing. They're just perfect heroes because "fate" decided it so. It's so boring.
The thing is - they could still bring in Nemesis and have everything be virtually the same. Furthermore, it makes no fucking sense you're constantly getting away from her. It screams plot armor, which isn't really that terrible of a thing unless it's so incredibly obvious.
>throwing fireballs at you, miss constantly while this guy running normal human speed manages to consistently run from you while you're flying around with fucking wings and magic god powers
>catch up with him yet again because of your powers and speed despite your mentor sacrificing themselves to get you free and they don't even check to see if you're dead when they destroy the dingy little boat
It's just so fucking lame.
Have the same opening, Nemesis destroys Sparta. The destruction of Sparta and her insanity causes monsters to be unleashed or whatever. Your mentor is a soldier from Sparta who is retired and has been raising you. For whatever reason, she appears on your island and kills your mentor then leaves. You vow vengeance and to solve the monster problem. Queue heroes journey.
