Most people wouldn't have a clue how to create a bootable USB drive, change their boot target to the drive, install an OS, then do all the fiddly shit in Linux via a terminal which is necessary.

Also Linux doesn't support kernel anti-cheats, so just about every popular multiplayer game is not runnable and this situation is getting worse, not better. Nvidia drivers are also poor.

If you have an AMD card, play single player games and have moderate computer literacy required to install an OS, Linux is already a better option now.

You *could*, but there's different tools better suited and specifically designed for that job.

I have a Linux PC for doing actual PC stuff, and a Windows PC for playing video games. I'm not so poor I can't use two tools to do two jobs instead of one tool to be "ok" at two jobs, and pressing one button on the kvm to switch between the two is trivial.

I think my favorite thing about linux over windows is that it just fucking does what I tell it to do, and nothing else. It updates when I tell it to update. It installs what I tell it to install. It shows me notifications when I tell it to show me notifications. In the off case where it does in fact do something I don't want it to do, I can tell it to stop doing that, and it'll stop and not pester me about it. It's not even a hassle, I don't have to run some script, it does that out of the box.

If that sounds like a bunch of horse shit you can keep using windows, if it works fine there's no need to change it. If it sounds like your kind of horse shit then look up how to make a bootable usb drive and give it a whirl.

The trick is to be a fat neckbeard in your mom's basement who doesn't need productivity programs. Helps in terms of time too, since you'll be troubleshooting your piece of shit OS for hours every time something breaks (which is often).
