Today is the big day! Ragna/v/ 3 is turning 1 year old on this day. We couldn't have made it this far without your support. Thank you so much!

For the next 24 hours, EXP rates and drop rates for Equipment and Cards have been tripled. There will also be events throughout the day. And of course, our Anniversary Month event is still running(ticket drop rate has also been tripled for today).

Ragna/v/ is a Ragnarok Online private server promoted only here on 4chan. There is no monetization, no cash shop, no Discord or external communication except for threads on 4chan.

The problem with /v/ ragnarok servers is it's just a discord client with how cliquish things get.
There's not enough people on to have differing groups.

Ragna/v/ 3 started from an rAthena base install from which I made several custom changes. The development took place over a little more than two weeks if I remember right. I have since expanded it a lot over the last year.

I don't want to share the entire thing but I don't mind sharing parts of the code, if you want to know how I did some of these custom changes work.

I think ragnadev did a good job on the first 2 months of rv3 but beyond that he regressed to his full retardation ways and he already hinted at wanting to start off rv4 with a lot of the ideas from rv3, namely the crafting system which COULD be a good fix to crafted wepaons normally being dogshit, but will likely be "craft 400 power weapons with +50% all racial damage and +30% skill damage" available on week 2.
It really boils down to dev does not strike me as a guy who actually has deep understanding of RO mechanics so if you try to explain concepts like "giving classes +10% aspd actually breaks them wide open" or "giving a gear slot that has +10% demon or demi resist gives you near invincibility" he'll just brush you off
because a lot of these things work differently in a renewal environment.
Like, it's funny haha that professor can hit 100k dps uptime with 190 aspd autobolts but once the novelty wears off, you're left dealing with the fucking retarded powercreep that has caused.
It eventually reaches a point where power creep is so absurd that all old content becomes trivialized.
Then you get the memes like ET used to be so much harder etcetc...Mot that I dislike some of these changes, in fact I liked soul linker actually being a more active support class that you don't just slave and press one button every 3 minutes.

You have to go through so many steps of gearing new players bit by bit, farming enchanted gear on all these new systems.
Trying to put renewal enchantment systems into a pre-re environment is fucking stupid because these systems were DESIGNED to be used with pay2win systems to skip the layered rng.
Yeah bro just farm 10 equipments that take 2-3 hours each to farm, get lucky and +7 one of those ten items, and then roll enchantments btw you have a 40% chance to break these items when you enchant and 90% of the enchants are dogshit and need to be rerolled anyways. It was designed where whales would fork over $5 to just skip straight to +7'ing each item without breaking it...or +9, or +12, or +14.
