Monster hunter makes me feel like a piece of shit unfaithful husband with an unreasonably understanding wife. I love fucking around with all kinds of different weapons but Greatsword knows she's always going to be my highest killcount weapon and is content to let me see what I'm missing with all those other hussies before I come crawling back. There's just something about that perfectly placed level 3 charge that I can't get anywhere else and we both know it's meant to be.

Thought SnS was gonna be perfect tutorial weapon, but I thought landing that...sword combo with the fancy red effects was really difficult in an actual fight.

Once upon a time it was one of the easier weapons but nowadays you're probably better off with the hammer, greatsword or bow.

Hey buddy they're all fun. Feeling bad about how a weapon is more or less casul is dumb shit in my approximation. Longsword is just good old reliable dumb fun and I like me some bow for easy farming that at least feels like I'm trying more than bowguns. I think the weapon chooses you more than the other way around. If you vibe with it good and can kill monsters in a reasonable time that's all that matters.

I end up playing the majority of the weapons in each game because I get bored, so the more the merrier for me

I like DB and Bow in Wilds cuz I get the super neato built in dodge mechanics and those are fun. They also brought back adrenaline rush so you can lean into it.

SNS is for gays, n00bs, and women. Men use GS or Hanmer

Started with GS in FU, stuck with it until 3U where I switch to DB so I had to make more than one weapon, moved on from DB in Rise with how retarded aerial was, stuck with IG for a while but ultimately felt like it wasn't for me before finally trying SNS for real for the first time.

It's "the beginner weapon", and it's also the one that has one of the highest skill ceilings. Uptime and proper dodging can make SNS amazing, but most people just mash and hope for the best. SNS is hands down the most fun weapon in the game. More fluid and fast than DB, equal positioning requirements to GS. Just pure fun.
