A lot of games are better at low settings because there's actually better visual clarity instead of mountains of blur or other visual vomit. Competitive FPS is an easy example, but also true for many RTS and other games.

I have a 3060TI and a 5600x and im riding those until i literally can't launch a game i want to play. or they catch on fire
It hasn't happened yet, last game i played was Wuchang with 0 issues.
I play on 1080p but im hopefully getting a 1440p screen soon with better refresh and im pretty sure i can play anything for a while at 1440p on med/high settings.
