What is the barrier to entry being a video game journalist.
If you are one, how "big" do you need to make a comfortable $75k salary?

Everyone talks about games, so everyone is a journalist/walking ad.

If games journalism disapeared, gaming would be a lot healthier
Indies already do without and are in a better spot than AAA now, in fact i'm sure journos are the main drive behind gamedev nepotism that kill AAA

At this point, 75k is not a comfortable salary unless you have a dual income household, live in some flyover or some parts of the EU.

You don't, even ones with government contracts are topping out at 110k(Anita). The barrier is your soul. You need to constantly shill games of low quality. You need to start out working for ign, or somewhere with access to who buys games advertising, or do research to build contacts with advertisers then shill their products relentlessly.

I think most people just need to get their materialism under control.
75k is plenty for a single salary.

Checked this guys Twitter.
Literally trooned out and is a body builder so he literally looks more like a man now than he did when he still called himself a man.

It really depends on where you live.
I earn 85k in suburban Florida and I'm doing fine for myself but rent and housing being as expensive as it is ($1.5-2k/mo for an apartment, minimum $300k for a good condition house) sucks ass so it makes it feel like it's "just enough" to get by and not worry about bills.
I couldn't imagine being on my current salary and living in New York or one of the west coast cities.

>You NEED us to brainwash you and shove our liberal faggot propaganda down your throat constantly otherwise the industry will DIE!!!!!!!
>Youโ€™ll also be paying more for games even though we were the ones championing $70 and $80 games calling you entitled
Do these people literally just throw every single argument at the wall, including ones theyโ€™re actively against, just to gaslight you into supporting their narrative by praying on your morals and ethics?
