I just accepted it. It was a lightning in a bottle and will never happen again.
Every dev who worked in BF1 are not in DICE anymore.
They can make better gameplay, but the atmosphere, attention to details and overall "soul" of BF1 will never be topped.

BF6 is an okay game that I will buy for $10 with all DLCs, get my dopamine for a month and then forget about it.

the end of round themes in BF1 gave a LOT of tension, specially when the match was very close, I don't think any future BF games has been able to pull this since then, and BF6 is looking like it won't either.

Why couldn't they do a World War 2 game with the same atmosphere and respect Battlefield 1 had for World War 2? I reccomend trying out Battlefield 1 and doing as many operations in different maps as you can.

My experience with BF1 was buying the game a long time after release with a bunch of the downloadable content and doing all operations with all the different maps was insanely fun.

Battlefield 1 not only has great map design for the operations, it lso has great music, and a great tone that is set not only by the soud design but also by the short narrations before every match that talk about the battle you're about to fight in.

As far as i remember you could never really do 700-760-800m sniper battles in BF1, or at least it wasn't something you could go out of your way to do it ofteen. Or it was extremely hard to get the ranging correctly. I don't know why i just found sniping to be more satisfying in 4 and harder to pull off the shots in BF1, maybe it's because the rifles are less powerful by design. Like if i was good enough at figuring out the bullet drop i could fight someone from the one edge of the map to the other edge on the opposite side.

I too was a contrarian at the start.
I too hated the inclusion of nogs and jeets.

Far Cry 5 was just another far cry, it isn't that different from Far cry 3, and far cry 4. The same gameplay loop with hunting, leveling up, armored enemies needing armor piercing ammo etc. The average zoomer would not be able to enjoy the kino tragedy of Farcry 2 and it's absurd fire physics engine and semi destructible environments. Cod 4 to MW2 is the golden age of cod, Black Ops was a bridge too far and was the first step on the path that led to the future warfare bullshit.
