Extra card can be wit if you want it, or friend card, or 4th spe if your cards are low or for some reason you aren't borrowing MLB Kita
Ult requires spare stam though so keep that in mind if you go with 0-1 stam card

If you have high level support cards and good stamina parents it makes sense to go with 1-2 power cards instead of stamina for medium/long racers. Excessive stamina doesn't really do anything and power training still gives you stamina.

You don't need to use any Guts cards (the ones with pink flame) for now, the stat isn't worth investing but there's a future update where they will change how Guts works.
Air Shakur (the wit card) is literally the worst card in the game, JP used to make fun of it.

If you haven't played a lot yet, you could consider rerolling (click title screen button > lower-right button > delete data > enter game again > skip tutorial), it takes 3 minutes so it's very painless to reroll in this game.
