I give them the names of whatever idols/models/vtubers I'm infatuated with at the moment.
Right now it's Sameko Saba, Dayana Litoshik, April, and Ulyana

I name them the first thing that enters my mind when I look at their portrait, with no quality control. If it isn't a real name I just headcanon that it's a nickname they've adopted.

I self insert as one of the classes and then build a backstory of who I have met in my travels and why they're there. All based on who's design I find the most appealing.

Party building?

Gender?
Whatever feels right, female protectors or male medics feel wrong.
Names?
First letter of the class.

Etrian bros, the trilogy is on sale currently for like 66% off, and I'm tempted. Is there any reason I shouldn't go for the PC version?

Cute girls. I have a series of three to four letter names that fit anything. However if its a series where I need like 30 characters (rare but something like the labyrinth games are like this) I use the greek alphabet.

My EO2 team is so fucking bad
I tried to pick stuff I didn't use in EO1 but the end result has no synergy, too many buffs that don't feel effective and most fights are dragged out by waiting for the gunner to kill everything with elemental weaknesses.

I looked over the portraits and try to put together a party that seems like it would work in both battle and character synergy. I then give them names related to nature such as plants or birds.
