It only bothers me, as you say, because it's so shitty in terms of voice direction.
The contrast is huge when you play Zelda BotW and then Hyrule Warriors afterwards. The latter was developed by Koei Tecmo, but even though it's all the same voice actors and the same recording studio, the way their localization team handled it is competent. Jenny Kidd is actually an amazing Pauline, but if you switch between JP and English her japanese cadence comes across as way more immersive, saying "Dekkay?" but in english she always drags it out, "Dee, Kayy?" and the lip reading feels forced.
The dubbing is simply mid-tier.
