Fallout peaked with 1 and the fact that zoomers keep getting filtered by its visuals (which are great) saddens me.

f4 is only playable with mods, even moreso than skyrim
skyrim is, at worst, boring without mods to make the gameplay more interesting
f4 is legitimately frustrating to play without mods that remove a bunch of arbitrary limitations

i don't think i've ever heard somebody complain about fallout's visuals, it's just that most people are not used to isometric, turn-based games
doesn't help that todd is still charging $10 for f1 on steam and the only bundle includes BoS

Starfield really opened my eyes on how fucked things are because of the settlement system. I expect ESVI to also gut a ton of the map design to have players build it for them.

I somewhat liked the setting and tone. Even had some interesting encounters but i felt the story progression was kind of slow. I mean, by the time i reached Diamond City i already had 4 different sets of armor and 3 settlements or so. Granted i checked everything on my way there because that´s what you do... but come on.

maybe i'm naive but i honestly don't think bethesda can justify making TESVI into shartfield 2
every game up until starfield sold in a constant upward curve, then that one came along and broke their streak with very consistent and specific complaints from a lot of people
i don't think M$ is going to be breathing down their necks because they don't need to; Todd is very focused on mass-appeal but they put out a game which had way less appeal than their previous titles
i'm not even saying it'll be good, just that I don't think they'll make the same exact mistakes starfield did
