It got borked in CS2 apparently. I don't know if the updates fixed it. Still, it added an unintentional and unexpected fun quirk in a FPS game.

CS did not invent bhopping, it was a quirk of the gold source engine which was just a modified quake engine so if you're gonna blame anyone blame the quake devs for adding strafe jumping.

if you are a quake fag that is not what they have qualms with.
quakefags have issues with the game changing to no longer require equal mastery of movement skills and aiming while going nuts with those skills, if I recall correctly.
CS changed healthbars and simplified the movement.
Limitations that made positioning on maps and ambushing more important.
