I was a die hard player for about 2 years. Campaign was okay, but the multiplayer is phenomenal. Completed every single weekly challenge. There are 3 things that killed it for me, and it was all pretty much in one fell swoop
>Weekly rewards were now turned into currency for a shop
Now instead of a color skin, emblem, or whatever. I get a few spartan points every week to maybe spend on a shop that refreshes every few weeks. There were a lot of times that I couldn't get anything, because I had earned most of the rewards from the shop from playing every week for 2 years. What was new was extremely expensive.
>Dedicated Swat playlist was removed
Pretty much the only thing I played because I had no one else to play with. Easily my favorite game mode. Only time I would play something else is if a challenge was easier to complete elsewhere
>Match Composer was added
In theory a match composer is a great idea. Just checkmark each game modes you're willing to play. Problem is that suddenly it took well over 5 minutes to find a single match of Swat, when it took less than a minute when it had a dedicated playlist.
I had no problems with the multiplayer up until that point. I didn't even have an issue with skill based matchmaking. It's my second most played game on steam. I haven't touched it in ages.
>is it just normal to hate video games now, even if you haven't even played them ?
Yes. Even when they do play it, they complain there wasn't enough content or that it was too easy, despite never engaging with the post game or any post release content. The internet as a whole has become an extremely miserable place where you're not allowed to enjoy anything without someone insisting on joining the conversation just to repeatedly tell you how much they hate whatever it is you're enjoying. It's best to just enjoy games by yourself or with your group of friends.
