I'll be honest, I only like Songbird insofar as I want to bust my nuts into her robopussy, but I'd immediately put two in the back of her head once I got that out of my system just to put her out of my misery(and to fuck over Myers to boot). The backstory was the real nail in the coffin. She makes out like the FIA straight up kidnapped her, when in reality she went poking around the Blackwall so much she ended up with a target on her back and Reed just offered her an out before NetWatch could fry her ass.
Doesn't help her case that betraying her (and not killing her) gets you better missions, better loot and an actual cure.

She caused an immense amount of deaths to those who were complicit in her torture, those who were simply doing their job, and flat out innocents. She strung you along throughout the entire process, lying to you and promising a solution to a life threatening, and time sensitive, issue. Hell, even if you ignore all of that, her plan leaves you as a target of NUSA if you go through with it. All of that combined with her willingness to push past the Blackwall for her own goals, risking the unknown of that hell.

I don't know if I would consider V a whole lot better considering how the endings play out in the main story, but that doesn't make her own actions excusable. Funnily enough, it was the lying that really pushed it over the edge for me. Both V and Songbird share similar situations of having to tear apart the world in the hope of finding a way to save themselves. But she uses that aspect of V, something she understands well, to manipulate them.

I betrayed her, then mercy killed her and told the president to shove it.

The whole scifi concept of disembodied brains is ridiculous. It relies on the false assumption that biology follows the rules of human categorization and treats the brain and body as separate things. It doesn't, and if your brain could survive being removed from the body, it would probably go insane immediately. I didn't, I trusted her more than I trusted Reed and NUSA. Helped her to get to the moon too, and getting to kill Reed was a nice bonus.

That said, after having read about the other endings, the best is probably to betray Songbird and then kill her.

what a fucking cunt. wish I could have killed both her and reed.

I ruined the final face off with Reed by having the headshot perk for pistols that makes a little *ding* sound effect when you score a headshot on someone. Moment was entirely ruined by that sound while I wanted to cry.
Also, I was carrying the unique overture during that sequence. Fuck you for making me pull a stock one out of my ass.

Songbird ending was heartbreaking, and Erebus is the better reward, but I'll be damned if I play Alien Isolation again. Shit overstayed its welcome by a long shot. Even with being fully immersed in the plot, I can't realistically see myself playing through that whole hour+ long section again.
