This wasn't even that bad. The duo nearby duo fight and trying to keep the hostages alive was more bs.

Even worse, necrofire.
You have to waste a source point to remove it, but one little droplet of cursed blood on the other end of the map is able to reverse that for the entire screen. Really stupid mechanic.

Did we ever get a mod to deal with the fucking surfaces covering the whole map?

Make two characters lone wolves and also enable most of the giftbag features like 8 AP as max. Less hassle with gear, shorter turns and you have all the utility you need on two chars. You can still use the others to steal shit.

Meanwhile, the oil voidling was easily the worst encounter in the game, especially if you wanted to keep the npc alive.

Act 2 went on too long
They should have split all of the little biomes they did into entire smaller acts
Completely overshadows the start and end of the game and goes on far, far too fucking long

It's a Larian game so playing as one of the preset guys completely ruins them
It's better to
>play as your own fag (not undead)
>download a mod that uncaps party limit
>recruit every companion
>download another mod that lets you make companions controlled by AI in battle
It's gaming time, you'll get all of their story beats and canon NPC dialogue in conversations and encounters this way
Sure you're going to miss out on the whole "everyone is competing with each other" part but that part is extremely gay and the lever you need to reach which ends that section can be reached in one turn so it's entirely pointless anyway

i recently played os2, got to like chapter 5 and dropped it. and no, not because of mechanics. the story is... badly sewn together.

you are basically just bunch of nobodies, with no actual reason to stick together and the story pacing goes nowhere. compare os2 to kingmaker or wrath and its like story in os2 was written by crayons eating retard. also there are TOO MANY races. like that undead skeleton has its own race. what the fuck.

speaking of the fire encounter in OP, all you need is to spam some magic-armor-generation like frost armor and not move a single inch. you dont really take damage by standing still on a fire. the blobs are nothing burger. you slaughter them without struggle with ranged attacks.

and the NPC in this fight? yeah, not possible to keep them alive, they keep running in the fire, taking like 500 damage per single turn, no way to outheal it. in theory you can save scum the fight and prepare ahead some cheese like petrify spell, basically to put them out of combat without killing them, but if you play iron mode, there is no way to keep suicidal ai alive.

there are fights in the game where you barely survive with 1 guy and then have to spend big cash to ressurect the rest. this is not one of them.

survival of random npcs you dont even need is nothing burger. suck their corpse for source and move along. you have universe to save.

Nah playing as the origins in OS2 was fine. Playing as your own OC just robbed you of unique origin character content since you were capped to a party of 4 anyway.
Anonymous No.718301012 [Report]
Can't you just use a chain of teleports to get the NPC out before the fight even starts? It's been years since I played this game.

The wonky level scaling the game has kills the whole "open zone" thing they were going for in act 2 since enemies even 2 levels higher will wreck your party so you end up progressing in a similar order most play throughs anyway

You can find some pretty easily online. I know Fextralife (yes, I know, shitty website) has a bunch of detailed ones that are pretty good.
I had the most fun with
>necromancy/hydro/warfare blood mage thing that just nukes the fuck out of people with Blood Storm
>elf archer (use Racial skill, then arrowheads for free damage buff)
>summoner
A lot of it is kind of picking certain meta skills that are really strong and good for everybody, like Armor of Frost, Adrenaline, Skin Graft, and Heart of Steel.

The retarded schizo that posts this thread over and over doesn't even realize the issue is the myriad of suicidal NPCs involved because he played the game on easy difficulty. (and the NPC appears to already be dead)
