Why is this game so fucking good?

Despite its flaws, Assault's one of my favorite games of all time and is the direction Star Fox need to go in the future.
DK64 was DK's first 3D adventure outing and it wasn't received well at the time. Now Bananza revisited that gameplay concept and is beloved.
Star Fox needs to do the same. Return to the mix of on-foot 3rd Person Shooter and vehicle combat.
Have more missions with maybe branching paths again and make every mission 4-player co-op since Star Fox always has 4 team members.
Then make online versus with multiple modes. 4v4 Star Fox vs Star Wolf dogfights, fleet battles with objectives and AI, etc.
Star Fox genuinely has more potential than any other dormant Nintendo IP. Hopefully with Pikmin and DK revived, Star Fox is next in line.
