I did, it's good but after completing all the quests in chapter 1 there's nothing else to do aside from the main questline and killing everyone in the Old Camp.

It does have a fair share of unfinished content like that camp full of rogues which would attack caravans going to the Old Camp or hiding in barrels.

there's a controller mod if you really dont like the controls, did a whole playthrough of both games with it just to check it out and it works pretty great

I played G2 after and you know what, I quit it.
There was something about G1 that wasn't there in G2. I couldn't bother with it despite everyone telling me G2 was the best PB game.

I really liked how someone referred to this as "lawn mowing" the map.

it's comfy and I like the vibe and worldbuilding but I wish the combat wasn't so jank and there was a bit more skill to it so you could overcome some tough-ish enemies early on instead of just getting 1 hit killed

The 1st game has just retarded damage formula so you don't deal any damage if you are weaker than enemy's defense
It helps a lot once you gain at least 1 level in sword fighting though

Although I haven't tried running unmodified Gothic though DXVK, it might actually work better out of the box
