Bros, I forgot... Was every CD drive capable of burning discs, or did you need a special one?
Man, all this tech I knew so well as a kid... The memory of it is quickly fading.
I had a fucking LightScribe-capable CR drive; does anyone even remember LightScribe?

Very popular on desktops back then. Burn two discs at once, copy one drive to another, play a game on one drive while listening to music on the other. They also give more audio outs for audio nerds.

It's not that weird. Usually one of them was a reader while the other one was a burner. Early drives with burner capabilites tended to be slow as shit so having a fast reader drive was nice to have.
>be 11yo >go to cybercafe >find all cool games installed on the PCs there >buy a cd >burn the shortcuts of games to the cd >make my way to home thinking I made the biggest big brain move of my life >tell big bro what I did >laughs his ass off and tells me to boot the games >to this day he stills makes fun of me for that
great fucking times, zoomers could never experience something like this.

Literally me.
Also English is not my first language and when I first read hotmail on the internet I thought it was some sort of porn thing.
