massive gloating about its first 4 days, but silent in the following month. why are there now switch 2 systems flooding store shelves?

It's probably still selling really, really well, but there's nothing new.
No new games released yet, no weird shit, no game using raytracing and upscaling 160p to 1440p with DLSSlop on "manmade horrors beyond comprehension" yet.
It's just sitting there, selling quietly, making mario kart drones happy, and also people that want to play any title named zelda from the switch 1 without horrible performance issues.
Literally all zelda titles on the switch 1 have bad performance that is fixed by running em on the switch 2.

Switchforce confirmed the Direct with Animal Crossing 3 and Super Mario Cruise are coming

If they get to do at least shadows with it, it would be amazing, because regular shader shadows are CRAP.
Even if you have to run a separate layer of shaders with 1/4 of the screen resolution, hell, 1/8, the result is still better than shader shadows.
