An Xbox that's basically a high end gaming PC (but much cheaper than building one yourself) and has Steam support would be very interesting but it wouldn't be this groundbreaking thing because most people with big Steam accounts already have something that can run those games. It would only be appealing to those looking to upgrade their computer.

this is legitimately the only place on the internet that still cares about "muh paid online".

at this point, i care more about PS+ for all the free monthly games i've picked up over the years than the online component that's attached to it. and it's even worse for the remaining Xbox userbase, which wouldn't even exist without gamepass.

>and has Steam support
This is the biggest lie told by shills. It won't have Steam out the gate. You'll have to install it. Also, game libraries from different game launchers other than the Microsoft Store would launch in those launchers in the Desktop mode with maximum Windows bloat and copilot. The SteamOS let's add games from other launchers as non-Steam games to your library and launch it right in Gaming Mode those maintaining that console-like experience. Xbox and Windows is such a failure.

Only thing I can think of is making a debloated version of windows for the Xbox handheld that somehow performs better and suspends better than SteamOS.
Or an update to windows that does the debloat when you run games.
I don't think this is possible with how modern Microsoft is run. They want your info 24/7 and would refuse to turn off telemetry ever.

i suspect a lot of people that say it doesnt appeal to them simply arent aware of how easy it is to get a pc for gaming. there is an illusion of difficulty, where the platform it out of reach out of sheer ignorance and poor marketing. Its like voting in america where most people dont even know there are other candidates, but they pretend that the only they are aware of is what they prefer.

every pc market platform is braindead easy to use and keeps games up to date.

The ROG Ally with an Xbox sticker will cost 700 dollars for the lower end model and the high end model is 1200 dollars from the leaks. This is because OEM make no money from YOU the customer buying games from Steam or pirating your games. Microsoft also makes no money from you buying games from GOG or Epic or Steam Store.

You delusional, fucking pathetic, insufferable Xbox fanboy. You only act out this way because you're afraid of end of service like the Xbox 360 marketplace shutdown. As too with the 13 year old Xbox One shut down its digital store. Microsoft convinced no one that their renting DRM hellscape was worth it, they destroyed their exclusivity, and their trifecta of Halo/Gears/Forza is down in the rot. Halo Infinite released 5 years ago or close to it, no DLC made and no roadmap. It was not "going according to plan".

Xbox fags are even sadder than SEGA fans when they went third party.

i bought two series x and use the home console settings so i can share all my purchases with the second one so my son has his own dedicated console and i only have to buy a game once for us to play multiplayer together.

hardware is pretty solid too, i've had my series x since 2020 and never had to replace anything, no controllers or anything.

i've had my ps5 since 2021 and i am on my 3rd controller, each failed within 3 months except until i opted for the $200 edge controller and suddenly i stopped having issues.

Cool beans. Xbox is getting outsold 8 to 1 by the PS5 and 11 to 1 by the Switch 1. Retailers in Europe, Middle East, and Canada don't even carry Xbox Series consoles anymore. Costco delisted Xbox from their inventory years ago. You cannot buy an Xbox from Costco, a big named retailer in United States.

Xbox fags in general in a pathetic state of denial about how low the brand is. Launching a new console after they fired all their localization/regional groups in Europe/Asia/South America/Middle East is totally a sane strategy, even as the Switch 1 is outselling the Xbox Series in America; after the Switch 2 launched. The ratio is probably Nintendo Switch 1 and 2 outselling Xbox consoles 20 to 1.

It doesn't help that most Xbox Ones are getting gutted next gen when it comes to backwards compatibility due to Xbox One games from 2013-2019 not being on Microsoft's Game Development Kit (GDK) like Xbox One games and Xbox Series games from 2020-current. It's also going to cost an arm and a leg whether you go for the limited in-house box or the OEMs whether they're handhelds or prebuilts.

If you can install Steam on it will need to be a fully fledged PC hardware. Which means it will cost around the same as a normal PC build. Like the Rog Ally Xbox which cost the same as the original Ally. And this instantly prices out 90%+ of the Xbox userbase.

This is what Xbox fanboys think next-gen will be like for them. Microsoft partners will construct expensive gaming PC, to sell at a loss, so they can pirate games or play Steam games which is net-loss for Microsoft Gaming operating costs.

There are only Microsoft fanboys now as MS doesn't tie their ecosystem to the hardware anymore. Yet the MS fanboys still talk in platform war terms because they want to desperately justify their purchases. Issue is that they don't realize when the next "Xbox" gen will bomb MS will kill their Gamepass as well and they will be left with an Xbox launcher for Steam games.

>how easy it is to get a PC for gaming
It's so easy. There's so many deprecated workstations on ebay for like $30-$80 USD that only need a modest GPU like an RX580 to really kick some ass. In 2021, I bought an old mid-tower Optiplex with an i5-3470 and 8GB of RAM. I settled for a new GTX1650 at Best Buy ($180) because it cost more second-hand during the pandemic. I bought a new PSU, an inexpensive HDD, and SSD. When I put it all together, I was playing Death Stranding at 50-60FPS/1080p. I spent around $300 altogether and it damn near matched the Series S in certain games. And yes, it was great deal at the time because the SeriesX/S and PS5 weren't widely available yet.

Prices for these parts have finally come down from their pandemic-era cryptoboom highs, so these kinds of builds are cheaper than ever before. However, if more AAA games start requiring RT and absurd VRAM capacities, then the Optiplex builds won't be as rewarding as they once were.

Six years, six fucking years, and they were still figuring out the gameplay.
I don't care who you are, you don't get six years to figure out what the fuck game you're even gonna make.

Who the fuck did they think they are? Who the fuck did they think they are to be allowed six fucking years to dick around with a concept?

Anon consoles as you know it are going away this time. MS and Sony are throwing in the towel. They need to change the business model because 3rd parties are outperforming them. Only Nintendo will carry on like normal.

nintendo is still existing just fine, at record profits even, and those are the consoles as i know them with actual GAMES with GAMEplay
what is going away is the AIPAC DRM PCs that are the kikestation and the jeetbox used to watch interactive propaganda movies

When you want to know why Nintendo dumped Rare, this is all you need to read to understand. As if trashing 12 tales just because some consumer mocked you for making kiddy games didn’t show how fragile you are. As if making different genres for each Banjo game wasn’t a sign of creative bankruptcy. This should show you that they’re incompetent

Imagine how fast the change would have happened if the entirety of steam had gone dark as protest denying all service and directly telling people "We are doing this in protest, here's the numbers you can call to make a change" like back during the net neutrality bill days.

Fairly trivial to download a launcher. I bet they make deals with Epic and EA to have a launcher pre installed. Tim Sweeney would be overjoyed.

I don't have to do this on a Steam Deck, once I get a game outside of Steam, I can just add that shit to my library as a non-Steam game and I can play it right in Gaming Mode as if it were from the Steam Store. Valve got Microsoft beat in terms of PC gaming. Microsoft needs to stop trying and be a third party.

MS was afraid of amazon after they bought double helix from under them. That is what started them on their buying spree. I don't think they are afraid anymore. Amazon was looking to buy in to gaming like they did with film buying MGM. MS scared them off. Apple will never go into gaming.

MS is making a lot of games which is why they are going 3rd party to being with. They need to recoup their Activision buyout. It doesn't matter if you don't like them CoD and blizzard games are still huge and need to sell everywhere to be profitable.

>MS is making a lot of games which is why they are going 3rd party to being with.
And none of them is above average. MS has no talent to make games, the regular consumer doesn't care about their games and they never managed to foster, let alone reach a point where they could attain something as a MS games' DNA to appeal to someone. They only have... acquisitions, from third parties, not from within; so nobody will reckon those games as MS or Xbox games, they'll just see Call of Duty (from Activision). Before MS rotting ll they bought like the reverse midas it is

They'll recoup with microtransactions.
Anonymous No.718357078 >>718357346

that doesn't matter anon they own them now and they are going to sell all of their games to every platform like a 3rd party including gears and halo. Also all of the big 3 made acquisitions or partnerships to make most of their games. Sony bought most of their companies during the ps1 era and Nintendo just works closely with Hal and Game freak so people consider them 1st party.
