I don't have an Xbox anymore. I jumped ship after 360 and when I got back into gaming after the tail end of PS4 around 2019, everyone had mostly moved on from mics unless it's PC FPS like Fortnite etc. Some of that spirit is still there but it's still extremely diluted.

There are demons still playing Halo 2 Classic on the MCC.

MCC matchmaking is so bad. If they had playercounts in each queue and map bans or voting. I was able to get FFA objective a few years ago but nowadays it's very rare.

It's really easy to go back in time but no one ever does it. I suspect this is because most people are actually afraid of being confronted with the reality that they're just nostalgic for a past that doesn't exist, and so they concoct a romanticized, maximalist view of it. That's why you almost always see these pictures in dim lighting, the game is on the title screen and a pizza box is mysteriously placed on the floor instead of the kitchen table where it belongs.
