In my case I migrated the account, played it once to check the migration was successful, and then a few months later my account randomly doesn't own Minecraft anymore.
I opened several tickets and the only response I got was "saar we're sorry saar but this is up to the microsofts, no you cannot contact the microsofts saar".

I've never felt like I was missing out on any new content, because post-1.12 vanilla content is a total nothingburger, and I can mod it all back into 1.12 if I really wanted to anyway (I don't). As far as mods go, newer versions have Create and nothing else. I actually miss older mods that never made it past 1.5.2, 1.6.4 and 1.7.10 way more than I miss any of the new stuff that I occasionally see posted.

They destroyed the purchases of anybody that bought it from Notch, but didn't convert their Mojang account to a Microsoft one. I'm surprised it took them this long to get sued, given how blatantly illegal what they did was.
