Good riddance. Enough of supporting stuff on eccentric OSes that no one uses. Pic related.

Isn't ChromeOS just linux with a Chrome skin? How does that work?

It's kind of like how Android is technically linux for ARM devices.
In that what's retained from linux is so miniscule that it can cause compatibility problems unless you build specifically for the platform.

if they announced it it wasn't quietly

It also doesn't help that ChromeOS was technically designed for ARM devices in the first place.

They can still install Steam the Linux way.
But I do support ChromeOS so it's sad to see this.

Where can I buy a laptop with ChromeOS?

Is another operating system free of the cursed Newell's?

I never even heard of ChromeOS before working at my current job and realizing the company owners will buy the cheapest computers without even checking out if they actually work.

I'd like a laptop with Chrome OS.

Think about it, since I hate Steam, a laptop with Chrome OS would be ideal for me.

Or you could just get something more functional without downloading Steam

Pic related is stenzek not wanting to maintain the AUR package but also not allowing others to do it because the license doesn't allow it. Stenzek wanted a special exemption for Duckstation and was told to fuck off and stop wasting everyone's time and he threw an autistic fit.
This is such an extremely niche use case even Loonix fags laughed at this pathetic attempt at drama.

Some newer chromebooks have ok specs, especially given how low lightweight chromeos is. And they have the best battery life outside of macbooks
