The Steam Wishlist and Recommendation Thread
I don't care anymore, let's have a Steam thread, fuck it.
Let's recommend games to each other.
Popular to obscure, let's fill each other's wishlist.

Straight from my favorites is...

It's also FREE!

If anything I'm RECOMMENDING.
And speaking of RECOMMENDING.
I'm RECOMMENDING...

Slime Rancher

A cute, colorful. exploration, relaxing, farming FPS about sucking up and raising slimes for their crystals.
While it's not free like Gravitas, I assure you it's money well spent (especially on sale).

I've been playing this lately - https://store.steampowered.com/app/1807810/The_Axis_Unseen/

It's essentially Skyrim Stealth Archer : the game. You explore a big fuckoff wilderness map full of enemies that have various weakpoints and ways of sensing you, and you try to push onward to find better gear and lore to explain what's going on. The biomes are interesting and varied, the archery feels good, and the enemies are simple but combine in interesting ways.

top down terraria clone but npcs are actually useful and they can get basic resources for you, but most impressively, they can sort chests for you; if you set up your shit you can just come back to your base, drop all your loot into one chest and watch npcs sort it neatly into proper chests
also it has very active development and recently hit 1.0, perfect time to play it

Here's another game

Going Under

A colorful, action rougelike, dungeon crawling, beat em' up about an intern battling foes within failed tech start ups using whatever junk you find lying around.

While the art invokes that "corporate" look, (probably intentionally), I had a lot of fun while playing it. Although it can get very difficult at times, but at least there are accessibility options that can mitigate this a bit. I manage to get all the achievements, so that's worth saying something. Did you know this game was also made by the guys who made "Peak" and "Another Crab's Treasure"?

Either way, take a gander... [It's also currently on sale!]

And speaking of bumpy, here is another rec but this time with an asterisk!

>Assault Android Cactus

An "intense" arcade-style twin-stick shooter about a group of "Gynoid" blasting horse after horde of mechanical monstrosities.
Single player and co-op, there are several characters to choose from, each with their own gun and "sub-gun" and many levels that'll test your skills (and patience).

While it's "hard", I did enjoy my "leisure" time with it. Fun colorful characters and a simple enough controls. It's not a LONG gam; and I do like and recommend it.

...however

Be wary, while it's fun to play and finish, I don't really recommend 100%-ing it/getting all of the achievements. It'll ask for perfection out of you and the game Will get "bullshit" at MANY times, with several insta-kill crap, etc.

BUT, if you don't care about achievements, I can safely recommend it.

or at least you can look at it and judge for yourself.

>POSTAL: Brain Damaged

A boomer shooter featuring everyone's "questionable acquaintance", The Postal Dude.

Just like every other game in the Postal Franchise (it's a franchise because it has a movie, go figure), it vulgar, irreverent, and very violent. However, In my opinion, that's just makes this game more unique, I mean, what other boomer shooter, or FPS in general, is this raunchy, (sans the other Postal game).

But aside from all that, Brain Damaged is a funny boomer shooter, with very fun and creative weapons, with many weird and odd locations with just as many weird and odd enemies to blow up. A game that I fully completed and a game that really surprised me, and it game may surprise you too, if you can stomach it.

But that's for you to decide...

It's linear insofar as there's an intended order for progression through the world; find the ability to breath poison air to traverse the swamps, find the ability to see in the dark to traverse the pitch-black quarry, etc. Other than that you're given the freedom to explore and backtrack as you choose, there's a hub with portals to various checkpoints throughout the world.

No character creator, no character at all really (your shadow only shows your equipment). The lore is vignettes about other people trying to explore and master this forest, and the various ways they failed.

I'm quite a bit behind on the NA pop culture, never watched Star Trek. Let me ask you this, is it autistic? I was gonna buy this Star Traders Frontiers game a while ago until I read a bunch of reviews and realized it's just a game for people whose spergotry is at a level where they have fun doing taxes.
>the tumblr character portraits make sense in-universe since you have humanity having been screwed over by "the bankers"
The problem with lore that justifies shitty things is the developer should have just made lore that doesn't have shitty things to justify. Hearing about "the bankers" also raises some alarms because it's probably not the ((())) kind of bankers and instead the 'we must eat le rich and cease the meen of production xD' kind. Either way, I'm still willing to give it a try.

Singleplayer game first with a psuedo MMO feel (PSO/Vindictus style hub area where you can see other people, two-player team up, and run out from there to do quests or randomized dungeons and trials out in the world together). There's also emergency world events like towns being raided and things like that.

Go check the store page or popucom or any other coop oriented like split fiction and look for friends who got it in the library or wishlist.

I'm sure you will find someone interested.

FUMES already came out, goober.

Tried Approaching Infinity. Reasonably decent. Will wait for it to go on a meaningful sale. Thanks for the rec, lad.

so did heartworm, but it was an older grid i made and i just updated it to have a few other outcoming games on it. didn't really filter through it and remove the ones that already came out.
also FUMES is early access, no? in its current state, is it meaningfully different from the demo or nah?

It has one more big boss, a few more cars (most are shite because the devs still haven't figured out how to make lighter vehicles not garbage), races, and... I think that may be it, if you already played the updated demo. If not - there's a bunch more fun shit, like different mission modes, anomalies,an extra large boss, etc.
