i was really hoping for more from V, all the systems are in place for a little galactic conquest type mode, working for soviets and mujahadeen or cia and pmcs, fights across the open world map for control/resources

One of the best vidya series of all time and definitive /v/core. Pretty much all the mainline entries are good and it has plenty of decent spin offs as well. Even the online modes are great.
