Get the undub patch, even if it's a little too good at what it does because it makes the shit localization choices in Y2 and Y3 more jarring than usual. Only faggots unironically recommend the le ironically edgy meme dub.
I started with the cringekino dub and enjoyed it but its probably better to play the undub version, as well as all the translation fixes for the other games. Though I'm not sure OG2 has one yet.

The meme dub makes the mediocre plot actually tolerable and I genuinely wish they kept doing ones for the ps3 games. Especially since "muh yume the game" already has a particularly terrible plot anyways. A dub wouldn't make it any worse and at least let me get some laughs out of it.

Why can't you just stop playing if you hate the story in a story-focused game so much? Why do you NEED shitty ironic meme dubs to keep playing games you fundamentally hate?

I think the undub is the better experience, and the patch is really well done. However, experiencing the eng dub has some merit for entertainment and historical purposes (it's how many of us played the game back in the day, after all). You might be able to get your fill of it from youtube, though.

I've been playing the series well before that video existed and probably when you were in diapers. The video is a direct comparison between the original and kiwami using the exact same scenes. Kiwami is an absolute butcher job of the intended tone. Watch it if you actually want to know what you're talking about when you wander into these threads.

No. form your own opinions. >I've been playing the series well before that video existed
Yes, I know you started playing since 0. but does that really matter?

That's not actually what happened, he wasn't replaced by an e-celeb, he was replaced by an Asian (Korean). I am not making this up, for the social brownie points they essentially preferred to do "they all rook the same" than have a better voice actor for Kiryu.
>>718348117 >We hired a Korean-American to voice the Japanese character because Asians
Chances are a Japanese person would be more offended that they went out of their way to get a Korean than a more suitable voice actor regardless of ethnicity.
